You are doing the right thing yes tell them if they don’t want it that you will have it back, you could always say that you told someone else they could have it if your parents don’t want it, it’s good and kind of you to help them out from what you say, they are very lucky to have you.

Nothing wrong with it at all.
Just make sure they know if they ever decide they do not want it it comes back to you and you alone.
What is it with your child that they have not accepted?
Just curious.
If I were in your shoes I don’t know if I would resort to renting one or leasing one, you end up paying more in the end if you do. That is how they make money off of renting or leasing. Just like cars.

I do not think it is wrong to buy them something then ask that they return it when they are finished with it. Maybe they sell things though becuase they need the money for other things that they need. It doesn’t make it right, but maybe that is why. If it is loaned to them they should make sure you have an option of getting it back.

I think you are doing the right thing. You are a good son, who, despite such awful parents, is still able to help them.
Just safeguard yourself financially and emotionally. I know the kind of parents who think more of themselves than their children or grandchildren. You have a big heart, so please don’t let them hurt you with their odd behaviour.
