On my Vespa LX 50 it has a side stand, however I would like to know how to use the other stand.
I know that you have to hold the stand down while lifting the back end up however the back end is extremley heavy.
Please Help
Thanks

There are three actions you need to balance.
1) Pressing down with your foot on the “tang” on the centrestand.
2) Lifting up the back of the scoot with your right hand.
3) Pulling the scoot back with your left hand on the bars.
It shouldn’t take too much effort to get a wee thing like an LX50 onto it’s stand as it’s mostly technique, but it can seem like hard work until you crack it.
What it sounds like from your description is that you’re just trying to pick up the back end of the scoot while just holding the stand down in position. This won’t work, as you’ve already discovered. The action isn’t a “picking up” action but a “rolling back” action. The height the scoot will be lifted by is very modest indeed (perhaps no more than a couple of inches), but it will need to travel back a decent way. Don’t be afraid of it. If you really feel you need to put your entire weight through the centrestand then, provided both stand legs are in contact with the ground, go for it.
Lift with your legs.
Stand in position to put the bike on it’s stand.
Bend your knees and straighten/extend your arm completely.
With your arm extended and body straight up & down, stand up.
While standing on the left side of the bike.
Left hand on left hand grip.
Right hand under left edge of seat – experiment with where on the seat to grab is the best place (usually near the center/rear).
Right foot on the centerstand.
you said it right. the rear end is heavy. i guess it’s mostly momentum to get it on the center stand. i can get mine on by standing on the left side of the bike, holding the stand down with my right foot, and pulling back on the handlebars with both hands. mostly try to keep the bike level this reduces the height required to lift.
